I tested it for 3 weeks before writing this review. My whole-grain bread from the market holds up perfectly through Sunday. No mold, no weird smells.

✦ Our story ✦
It all started with a question to my aunt: "How did Grandma make her bread last all week?" Her answer: a cloth, beeswax, and common sense.
What our grandmothers knew by instinct, science confirms: bread is alive. Too much air, it dries; too little, it moulds. Pure beeswax regulates humidity without suffocating it.
We have reinvented it. LoafCare weaves natural cotton with a layer of pure beeswax: a micro-barrier that keeps the crust crispy and the crumb soft, for 5 to 7 days.

“I used to freeze everything. Now I don't even need to. And that thawed-bread taste that bugged me for years — gone. The morning baguette still tastes great the next evening.”
— Mike R., Toronto

“Honestly, I was skeptical. I buy my country loaf on Monday from my baker: by Friday night the crust still cracked under the knife. My mom didn't believe me, so I gave her one.”
— Sarah M., Vancouver

“Quick rinse with cold water, dries in 10 minutes. No waxy aftertaste. It's beautiful, sturdy, smart. I bought three more for Christmas.”
— Andrew F., Calgary

“For years I thought a tea towel was enough. The bread was dry by the next day. With this bag, I realized it wasn't me — it was the air/moisture balance that was missing.”
— Claire R., Ottawa

“Carefully packaged, product lives up to the promises. The bag does exactly what's advertised, and customer service is top-notch. Nothing to complain about.”
— Ethan M., Edmonton

“Three kids, we used to run to the bakery 3 times a week. Now: just once. And knowing no plastic touches my little ones' bread, that's priceless.”
— Julia P., Halifax

“I was worried it would be a hassle to maintain: not at all. A quick wipe with cold water, air dry, ready in 15 minutes.”
— Vince T., Winnipeg

“I gave it to my mom for her birthday, she loved it. So I bought another one for myself: my rye bread stays soft all week, it's amazing.”
— Sophie L., Victoria

A gift for my partner who wanted to cut down on plastic at home. End result: we bought a second one because we use it so much.

The stitching is flawless, the fabric is thick and well-waxed. You can tell right away it's quality, not a gimmick. And the bread really does stay fresh for days.

The bread paradox
A thousand-year-old baking craft, a living tradition. And yet, every morning, we buy a fresh baguette because yesterday's is inedible. No modern solution handles humidity and air together — and that is exactly what our bread needs.
Traps the steam. The crust softens, the crumb turns gummy, and mould appears by day 3.
Lets all the air through. The crumb dries out in hours, the crust cracks and crumbles.
A poor compromise: neither truly sealed nor truly ventilated. Bread goes stale in 2 to 3 days.
The result: nearly 30 kg of bread thrown out per household every year. And a centuries-old craft forgotten along the way.

Frequently asked questions
Most cheap bags use TPU (a soft plastic) or polyester coated with a thin layer of paraffin. Our bag is made exclusively of tightly woven premium organic cotton (200 g/m²) and pure beeswax. No petroleum derivatives, no microplastics.
Between 5 and 7 days for a sourdough or country loaf, and most artisan breads. For a traditional baguette, 3 to 4 days. Pastries stay soft for 2 to 3 days.
No. Pure beeswax is taste-neutral. You will notice a light honeyed note when opening it, which disappears within a few hours.
XL format: 33 × 43 cm. It fits a 1.5 kg loaf, two baguettes side by side, or a whole sandwich loaf.
We do not recommend it: the cold hardens the wax. Bread is best kept at 18-22°C.
Rinse with cold or lukewarm water (never hot) and a mild soap. Air-dry. Avoid dishwasher, tumble dryer and microwave.
